3 Days, 3 Quotes // Day 3

It’s day 3! And if you missed out on Day 1 or Day 2…just click on those right there. I was originally tagged by Jessica @ The Awkward Book Blogger.

RULES: For 3 consecutive days, share favorite quotes or ones that have impacted you – 1 per day. Then tag 3 people on each day. (…not sure if I can)

We about to get real up in here.

I literally found this only recently on a Tumblr page, so I have no idea who the author of this quote is – it was just an asexual quotes page. It had some good ones, but I liked this short and sweet one.

(This focuses on the sexuality, not the romanticism (i.e. pan-romantic), so this is only part of what some may feel about it)

Yes, I know this is a generalization and that other sexualities probably look for those flowers on their hearts, too. But I think this is still a great poetic representation of the difference asexuality has compared to others.

I like sharing quotes like these and spreading knowledge of asexuality because it can be hard to understand sometimes. Asexuality isn’t just ‘you despise sex’ – some asexuals still have sex if it pleases their partners. There is a huge spectrum for this sexuality, much like any other. This one just means that your mind doesn’t draw conclusions from attraction straight to sexual desire.

You can still love kissing, holding hands, cuddling, any romantic action. Some would rather never have sex, while others may do it because they like seeing their partner happy. You can still totally be attracted to people. You can be asexual, yet bi-romantic, hetero-romantic, demi-romantic, you name it.

What you desire just may be more along the lines of flowers on your heart rather than a flame of desire burning in your stomach.

I will stop there, even though a huge discussion could come of this – and I welcome awesome discussions. I may post other things about this in the future, but for now, this little tidbit!

Today, I’ll tag…

Shannon @ Clockwork Bibliophile

(and remember: you don’t have to do it if you don’t want)
