Peeeopllllllllle…

First, hey, I’m back with my first review since hiatus. (Remember how I said I’d try getting one within the week? Forgot about not having much computer access over break, so…17 days later, here we are!) And instead of trying to make reviews for what I read while relieving stress during that school hiatus, like I mentioned, I WAS IMPATIENT TO READ MURMURATION.

And well. Reviews are hard for this one because so many little details could be spoilers… so this is probably gonna be a short one, folks.

Recommended if you like:

  • Tj Klune books
  • love
  • I can’t say!

Alright. I made it to the second book. After the open-ended ending to BOaTK, I was nervous to see where things would go, but it’s Klune, so I’m like…I’m 90% sure I’ll like it. And I did! Plus, the 3rd book deals with The Kid/Ty growing up and I reeeeeally wanted to get there… I’m not a fan of the cover because it’s really stiff, but my reviews do not encompass covers, so I thought I’d mention it.

This was cute, angst-y/dramatic, and freakin’ sad at one point. Let’s get to it! Continue reading Who We Are (Bear, Otter, and The Kid #2) // A Roller-coaster of Fun and Heartache

DOUBLE REVIEW // Strong Signal & Fast Connection (Cyberlove #1 & #2)

Well then. Another double review so soon. (I read them too fast…) AND another one dealing with online gaming and stuff. I’m on a role! (This was completely unplanned. Could’ve been a mixture of liking online gaming stuff and wanting Santino Hassell’s work!)

These books are both part of the Cyberlove series written by a DUO – Megan Erickson (my first of any of her work) and Santino Hassell (love his In the Company of Shadows series).

Both were so cute!

Oh man, with school, folks, I have so much trouble retaining thoughts on books… I read in my free time a lot, if I’m not playing FFXIII-2, but I don’t always have time to then write up a review. Bummer! So bear with me as this may be a short one. But you see the title – the second book to the Tales of the High Court series!

Recommended if you like:

  • cute romance
  • a small overarching political scheme
  • Lesto!
  • pirates

WOW. Small hiatus there. Never got this posted due to busy-ness and then I had some homework to catch up and a paper proposal to write and AGH. It doesn’t help when you’re not that interested in the material of research AND you don’t really want this degree anymore… *shrugs* I know I’ll get busy even more later, fair warning.

ANYWAY, this book was a light, yet fun, read! I love creative historical fiction settings. Like, not historically accurate or even historically existent, much like Captive Prince and such.

Recommended if you like:

  • great character dynamics
  • a slower burning love
  • historical settings
  • miscommunication
  • normal historical fiction plots (this is not a bad thing)

DOUBLE REVIEW // #gaymers Series #1 & #2 – Gaming, Road Trips, and Piercings!

I’ve been reading through some of these ebooks too fast! It’s cluttering together or making me forget thoughts as new story lines are pushed into my head…

So before I get too deep into any thing else, I wanted to do this double review! Because I read these 2 books in, like, a week… So I need to get my thoughts out as more and more books start fighting for reviews. Phew!

These 2 books are part of the same series, my first books by Annabeth Albert. This series is called #gaymers – I love that title. So these’ll kinda be small reviews due to my forgetfulness and just not having a ton to say.

Let’s go!

This was so cute! Like, it’s a slow read, and that’s a turn-off for many reviewers I saw, but I think due to the personality of Noah, the dynamics between them, and the road trip setting, I found it quite cute. Of course, some parts dragged more than others. And there are dogs! Continue reading DOUBLE REVIEW // #gaymers Series #1 & #2 – Gaming, Road Trips, and Piercings!

:: Forgive my lull in blog action. My laptop crashed and I had a crisis trying to get it to turn back on again so I could save files – specifically the photos from Japan. Those’re important to me! All is well, now. So back to schedule! ::

I am now officially a member of the Schwab Squad! (I’m making that a thing.) I’m so glad and this was a fantastic book to start with. And then I hear her more recent books are even better? I can’t wait.

Recommended if you like:

  • fantastic characters and growth
  • some sass
  • psychometry and “bodies” made of memories escaping their library
  • baked goods
  • guyliner
  • keys that lead to different realms that are awesome

::THIS CONTAINS SEXUAL CONTENT::

This is gonna be a bit shorter of a review because I tend to not have as much to critique as all my fantasy/supernatural/paranormal/etc. books…*ahem* But this was a pretty average read for me. I’ll get to more details, but I had a phase of finding m/m books with good mental health representations. I’m still getting through them around other books, hah. But I was curious what they’d do. I enjoyed this for some reasons and was meh for others.

Anyway!

Wolfsong // A Heart-Grabbing Werewolf Tale (Tail?)

::CONTAINS SOME SEXUAL CONTENT (REALLY NOT BAD, THOUGH)::

Oh, my word, Klune knows how to write werewolves. I think it’s hilarious that, according to Klune, he told himself he’d never write a story with werewolves, but as he was writing this story, he looked down and saw what had happened. Hah! And he just went with it!

But this is wonderfully well written shifter story, let me tell you. I have several reasons why, all of which will be shared below. I’ve actually been struggling to find an m/m novel with shifters that I love and I found one!

Recommended if you like:

  • gay werewolves
  • friends-to-lovers (and it’s through several years!)
  • stressing the bonds of family and friendships
  • awkward adorable-ness or vice versa
  • emotions
